Saturday, September 25, the Klingberg Vintage Motorcar Series, now in its 29th year, continues with another great family-oriented event. This event is a Cars & Coffee & Kids and designed to be the first of many events over the weekend celebrating New Britain’s 150th anniversary. During the hours of 8am – 11am, filling the top of the Klingberg hilltop campus in New Britain will be horseless carriages, classic cars, muscle cars, modern supercars, and activities for children and families including our very popular automobile scavenger hunt for children. All proceeds support programs serving children and families across Connecticut. TV celebrity Wayne Carini of Chasing Classic Cars will be present as Grand Marshal. The Klingberg Program sponsor will be the Foster Care & Adoption Program, which offers therapeutic foster care training and support to families throughout the state.
The variety of supercars of their era will include: 1928 Bentley Vanden Plas, 1931 Chrysler Imperial, 1934 Ford Cabriolet, 1962 DeLorean, 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. This is an amazing place to compare supercars through the years.
Staff of Klingberg Family Centers can be available for interviews and to talk about the issues that affect children and families today and how the Klingberg programs help them move on successfully.
Klingberg Motorcar Series Hall of Honor will display more than a dozen honorees who spent a lifetime working in the automobile field and have left their mark on auto restoration for generations to come. Walking through and reading their brief descriptions is very moving.
Created just for this event is Avery’s Beverages’ newest flavor, Klingberg Blend Coffee Soda. Avery’s Soda is an amazing family business selling soda in the same neighborhood as Klingberg since 1904.
